FLICKA
Another favorite horse movie of mine would have to be Flicka. Anybody who loves horses would love this movie. In this movie this girl wants a horse that nobody else wants. I think this movie is so inspirational as in fighting for what you want. Flicka is a beautiful horse that stands for more than just a horse. She stands for everything that is pure and innocent in this world.

High Ho Silver....AWAY!!
Silver was a hero. He was known for his beauty and his grace while running. This horse was the Lone Ranger's side kick. This horse was solid white but what made his beauty was the saddle that the Lone Ranger uses. Its black with silver pieces on it, and with that it made him absolutely stunning.
Dances with Wolves
This horse has got to be one of my favorite famous horses of all times. I actually named my mule after this horse. In the movie Dances with Wolves this horse did an amazing job. People don't understand just how talented this horse was. I mean the stunts that he did was tremendous. One scene during the movie this horse in running in a pack of buffalo while John ( the rider) dropped his reins and was shooting a rifle. One, if that was my horse I would be threw off. And two, this horse didn't care that he was being in control. He just did what he was trained to do.

The Heart of a Champion
That is true when we talk about the horse Secretariat, or Big Red (which was his barn name). This horse had the heart and drive of a champion. The size of this horse was unbelievable. He ate as much feed as five pregnant mares put together. Secretariat was the only animal, ever, to be accepted in as one of ESPN'S greatest athletes. There will never be another horse like Secretariat. The most amazing thing about this horse is his owner got him by flipping a coin. No other horse has ever even came close to the time that Secretar raced at the derby.

Famous Horses
From here on out, I thought it would be neat to upload new post each week that deals with horses that are famous. Each horse that I list will either be one that did an amazing feat, or is just an all around good horse. I think this is interesting because a lot of people don't know the story behind these amazing horses. I hope you all enjoy this because I know I sure do.
The horse Hidalgo is a legend himself. He was in a 100 mile race. That distance is almost to much for a horse to handle. It wasn't in his favor for him to win and a lot of people put him and his owner down for even competing in the race... Hidalgo had the heart of a champion and beat all the other horses even though many tried to hurt him during the race just so he'd loose. Hildalgo had mustand blood in him. He has speed, agility, and endurance, which was all this horse needed to win the race.

Hunter
The horse in the picture is one I got last year but how I got her is a truly amazing story. It all started about three years when my purchased two registered white tennessee walking horses ( they're names were Cowgirl and Fancy btw). Oh buddy, I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Me and Pa was going to have matching horses!! Well, I came home from school one day and my white horse was dead. I was crushed! So when I finally got over the loss of my horse, I went to a horse sale and bought me one.
When I got the horse home that I bought at the horse sale I soon realized that I bought an outlaw horse. She was crazy. She had barely any training at all. To put it simple this horse was spoiled, and had a mean streak. I didn't know what to do. If I kept her I took a chance on getting hurt, and if I sold her then someone else may get hurt. But finally a guy that my Pa traded cattle with said " I've got a tall appaloosa gelding, and I'll tell you what, you come to my place and see if you like him, and if you do I'll trade even with you."
So, what did I do. I traded the first chance I got. The new horse "Romeo" was a lot better than that nut of a horse I bought at the sale. But after awhile of having Romeo I realized that he didn't fit my style. He was to tall, and just not really the type of horse that I wanted.
What happend next changed my life. My cousin Jordan just happened to be home from Indiana and he said well my friend has a brown quarter horse mare, and he wants a bigger horse. If your interested he'll trade you. Well I was reluctant to trade once again, but I thought it was worth the chance I mean I wasn't happy with what I had so why not give it a try? I always wanted a quarter horse because of all the stuff you can do with them. I mean barrel racing had always been a passion of mine, so I was really hoping for a broke quarter horse that I could practice barrels on.
I went to go look at the horse that my cousin's friend had and when I saw her.... I LOVED HER!!! She was perfect. She was beautiful, and just the right size for me. She wasn't to tall, and she wasn't to little.
I still have this horse, and about after a month after I got her I asked my Pa what I should name her because I wanted her to have the perfect name.
Pa said " Well who did you trade her with"? I told him " Hunter Best", and Pa replied "Name her Hunter", and I did. The perfect name for the perfect horse. I traded horses three times and after that third time I found the horse that was meant for me. When it comes to buying a horse make sure you get one that you have a connection with. Because if you don't neither you or the horse will be happy
